  • Condition: I am certainly a novice at selling Antique Violins ... however I will do the best I can to describe whatI see ... or think I see .. ASK ANY QUESTIONS and i will be glad to answer to my best ability. Sellingobviously USED and please .. my pics are magnified so you should see most everything. It is allset to PLAY and the IS LOUD and to me FANTASTIC CLEAR SOUND. From this Estate this violinshould be Mid 1800's I would think, so there obviously has been some repairs and restoration over the years. Note the LINE at the PEG BOX & SCROLL ... appears to me to be repaired. Also a fineline to the lower bout that seals itself .. but does open if pushed. KEYS are marked CASPARI on one side and PATENT on the other .... so should be rather early. ALL KEYS ARE PRISTINE. The case appears original ... but AS FOUND and shows wear over the years BUT has protected this GEM FOR MANY YEARS! Selling with 2 BOWS both marked JAPAN see listing for more detail !!!GREAT FIND & can be played.

    ---- Right from a small town Estate in Mid-Central OHIO and is thought to be a
    RARE EARLY VIOLIN
    .  You collectors will know for certain. It is complete in the ORIGINAL TATTERED but Sturdy Faux Alligator over Hard Paperboard Case and selling with
    TWO BOWS.
    Both are marked
    JAPAN
    .  One is right at
    26 1/2"
    and the other is
    29 1/4"
    . Both have hair with some loss .. BOTH seem to be complete and really nice & will be
    SOLD WITH the VIOLIN
    .
    The Violin has 4 ---
    CASPARI PEGS all MARKED --

    & PATENT
    --- APPEAR PRISTINE.   I certainly do NOT know how to play a Violin but I put it to my chin.... bow in hand ... THE SOUND WAS GORGEOUS ...BOLD, STRONG and FINE.  Actually could be really loud ... if I did it correctly.  Having said all that be sure to read my
