    Description

    Restocked- availability has been updated!
12" overall length - Ceramic rod measures approximately 7" in length**
    Solid wood handle
****100% Made in the USA!**** (yes, from US materials!)
Ceramic Sharpening Stick / Honing Rod is p
erfect for quick touch ups on pocket knives and kitchen cutlery.
Keep one with your Chef's knife in the kitchen and another in the garage to easily sharpen your blades to a razor sharp edge.
Grit is the equivalent of approx. 1600-2000 microns - which is ideal for edge maintenance, honing and keeping a sharp knife very sharp.
Also works great to sharpen any serrations / serrated knives, scissors, fish hooks, garden shears or pruners, etc. Does it need to be sharpened? This will probably do the job. If you have a can of WD40, a roll of duct tape and one of these sharpeners, you should be basically ready to take on the world. Or at least the day. Or your dull kitchen knife. Get after it!
Every sharpener (and all of our replacement rods) are packed with extreme care - wrapped in bubble wrap, inserted in a PVC sleeve which is cut to fit, and shipped to you in order to do everything we can do to ensure the item you receive is in tact and ready to perform. We take GREAT pride in making sure you receive your item(s) in excellent condition.

for a replacement rod! Reuse your handle after you've put the ceramic through its paces by simply swapping out the used rod for a new one. (But make sure you've cleaned the old one before buying a replacement! These things last a very long time!)
Apologies in advance for this lengthly "disclaimer"
**We recently had a customer complain about the item description, so want to clarify again from what is said at the very top: when measured from the
end of the handle to the tip of the ceramic - that's 12"
(with less than 1/4" of margin of error). The c
    eramic rod itself measures 8.5"
    in total
but the visible part is right at 7"
    .
*These are each handmade so measurements
    may
    have some
    very
    slight variances -
our quality control ensures that gap is never more than right about 1/4" in both overall length as well as the length of visible (aka "usable") ceramic.
Please don't hesitate to reach out with questions.
If you feel strongly enough about your need to have a very specific size, send us a message! We would be happy to grab a sharpener, lay it out next to a ruler along with a piece of paper with your user name and once you approve, we'll send you
    that exact sharpener
including the piece of paper that was in the picture. We can also make them to order, within reason and certain limitations.
We've sold hundreds of our sharpeners with 99.9% positive feedback (especially our packing to ensure safe shipping! :) ). We stand behind our work, and absolutely do not want anyone to feel mislead by anything we've put in the description.
The intent of this Ceramic Rod is to
    hone
    /
    keep an edge sharp
    and is
    not
designed to re-profile a chipped/damaged/abused/dull/beaten up knife. If you need to
    sharpen
    to the extent of actual
    repair
, we recommend diamond or carbide sharpeners, benchstones or whetstones, etc. Essentially, a sharpening kit that includes something with a ~600 grit coarse stone or a product designed to remove enough material to provide a new edge.
Open door policy, so if you're unsure, messages are open and we strive to respond within minutes if not a few hours. Thanks for reading this far if you made it on the disclaimer journey.
